Indiagram
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
Indiagram is a free social app for sharing photos, stories and messages. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information. Your username, display name, optional city/state and a password (stored only as a cryptographic hash, never in plain text).
- Content you create. Photos, posts, stories, captions, comments, likes and messages you choose to share, including photos you send in chats and shared albums.
- Usage information. Basic technical data needed to run the service, such as when you log in, post or message.
- Reports and support messages. If you report content or contact support, we store the report or message, who sent it and when, so we can review it.
- Agreement record. When you sign up, we record the time you agreed to the Terms and this Privacy Policy.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your phone number, email address, contacts or location history.
- We do not run advertising or analytics trackers and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Device features and permissions
- Photos and camera. Used only when you choose a photo or take one to post, send in a chat, or set as a profile picture. We explain this in the app before you pick a photo.
- Location. Used only when you tap to send a location pin in a chat. The pin is shared with that chat only. We do not track your location in the background.
- Microphone (voice typing). Used only when you tap the microphone to dictate text. Speech is turned into text by your browser or device speech service; we do not receive or store the audio.
- Notifications. Optional. You can turn them on or off in the app and in your device settings.
How your information is used
- To operate the app: showing your posts to others, delivering your messages, and syncing your account across devices.
- To keep the community safe: enforcing blocks, message requests, reports and abuse prevention.
Messages and privacy controls
- Direct messages are visible only to the members of that chat. Group messages are visible to group members.
- Disappearing messages (24 hours or 7 days) and view-once photos are deleted from our servers after their time expires or after they are opened.
- You can make your account private, hide your online status and last seen, turn off read receipts, and limit who can message you, from the Settings tab.
- Message requests from people you do not follow stay in a separate Requests folder until you accept them.
- If you report a message, post or profile, the reported item and your report are visible to the people who run Indiagram so they can review it.
Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties except service providers that host and operate the app infrastructure, and only as needed to run the service. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Data retention and deletion
- Your content stays on our servers until you delete it. You can delete posts, stories, individual messages (for everyone in a chat) and photos at any time from within the app.
- Delete your account. In the app, go to Settings, then Delete account, and confirm with your password. This permanently removes your profile, posts, stories, comments, likes, followers and the chats and messages you were part of (direct chats are removed for both people; in group chats your messages are removed). It cannot be undone. Details and a web request option are on our account deletion page.
- Reports about content may be kept for a limited time after deletion where needed to prevent abuse.
Data safety summary
- Data collected: account info, photos and content you post, messages, and reports/support messages. Nothing else.
- Data shared with third parties: none for advertising or marketing. Hosting providers only.
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- You can request deletion of your data inside the app or on the web page above.
Children
Indiagram is for people aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us through the support option in the app or on the web form and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, announce it in the app.
